MySpace's exponential success seems to
mimic mp3.com's a bit - right place,
right time, right demographic. And like
mp3.com, no doubt the founders will fuck it
up by spending all their budget trying to
attract/sign up big stars to the site - and
making the nobodies pay for it (music down-
loads, etc.), sending them all scarpering
away back to blogger.bollox ... he says
cynically.

Like mp3.com, take away the music - which is
what they did, essentially, but forcing nobodies
to charge their friends to download their crappy
demos - and mySpace becomes pointless for most
of its users.

"Pinky Stardust," makes me think of Roz Kelly. She played Pinky on Crappy Days, plus she got her start as a Vegas dancer.

(edit: MySpace is more of a dating site disguised as a blogging one.)

Me, I much preferred Laverne and Shirley. That show was funny on its own terms, without even thinking of Happy Days.

Are you saying that Fonzie was some sort of Maynard G. Krebs type weird sidekick? Interesting, considering that beats hated the very music that Fonzie loved.

Fonzie was more or less a parody clone of James Dean, the misunderstood, moody type that women fall for very easily. He always felt insecure around the more well-off Cunninghams, it was obvious from his actions.

Yes, R, P, and R were sort of misfit jocks, which would make them more or less like the Alice Cooper Band! As I recall, Glen Buxton was the only real musician type in the band, and of course, he died young.

Well, I didn't like the show due to Suzi, that was just a nice perk to go along with the show. I also didn't realize who she was at the time. I just knew I liked her a whole bunch.

I liked Laverne and Shirley also, as long as they stay in Milwaukee. Once they up and moved to the West Coast it went to crap.

Joanie Loves Chachi though was always crap.

Markii, I had the old Fonzie doll that did the thumbs up with the lever on the back! LOL! Yeah, Fonz and Ralph were the best.

I always found the idea of a group of jocks worshipping a greaser to be preposterous. Richie, Ralph, and Potsie were lettermen, why would they worship a loner ex-biker such as Fonzie?

I knew a girl many years ago nicknamed "Fonzi."

I always took them to being a bit of an odd group, and purposely so.

None of them were all that "cool" or popular in their lettermen ways though, until years later when Anson seemed to want Potsie to actually be a suave crooner.

Ralph though was just the class clown, and Ritchie always was a bit of a dork.

Fonz kind of just fell in with them, and didn't the first season really show him to being an outsider who kind of fits in?

In high school, I was pretty much the lone Punk/Glam guy. I wore make-up, wild clothes and all that. But it was cool to be my friend. It was cool back then to have a "Punk friend", and that was me. It could have been that way in the 50's also. If the place wasn't over run with greasers, it would be kind of cool to be friends with the only one. Plus if said Greaser/Punk is actually a good guy who just wants to be himself, he is able to gain a decent amount of respect. Yeah, I had to fight quite a bit because of the way I looked, but I also had a bunch of friends.

myspace already is pointless
I found it about 9 months ago
since than it was constatly gotten slower
glitches are becoming about 50/50 chance
of hitting one

I check my messages and leave
Can't stand having to watch alittle green bar at the bottom of the screen try to fill up
every time i try to change pages

ever since it was sold,
the end has been coming people just have to stop
which is not easy cause everyone in the world has a page
